Jose G. Romano, MD, FAHA, FAAN, FANA
Dr. Romano is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and Chief of Neurology for Jackson Health System. He is originally from Mexico City, where he completed his medical studies at the Universidad Anahuac, followed by Neurology residency and Neuromuscular and Cerebrovascular fellowships at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He is the Executive Director of the Florida Stroke Registry, principal investigator of the Florida Regional Coordinating Center for the NIH/NINDS Stroke Trials Network and MPI of the Cardiac Imaging of Neuro-Embolic Mechanisms in Atriopathies causing Stroke Study. His current research interests include systems of stroke care, intracranial atherosclerotic disease, mild stroke, and stroke imaging biomarkers.
