Overview
The neuromuscular Educational Conference is designed to provide neuromuscular and general neurologists, PM&R specialists, and trainees with comprehensive, timely, and high-quality information regarding neuromuscular disorders. This conference will allow providers and trainees to learn the developments in neuromuscular disorders, approach to neuromuscular patients, and ways to improve success in insurance reimbursement, as well as organizational support in improving access to care for patients (for instance, institution’s support for sub-speciality clinics). We will discuss a variety of neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, myotonic dystrophy, metabolic myopathies, inflammatory myopathies, inclusion body myositis, congenital myopathy, congenital myasthenia, SMA, CIDP, Guillan Bare syndrome, neuropathies, and plexopathy.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. General neurologists will be able to identify common neuromuscular disorders and initiate appropriate workup/treatment.
  2. Maintenance of cutting-edge knowledge of neuromuscular disorders by Faculty and neuromuscular trainees.
  3. Practitioners will be able to provide the highest quality evidence - based care to the patients in neuromuscular disease.
  4. Learners will be able to optimize the time of diagnosis and treatment in neuromuscular disorders.

The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
