Overview
The Evolutions Research Group (ERG) CME activities/health professional education program’s overall goal is to disseminate knowledge, change physician behavior, and improve patient outcomes. The didactic series will help doctors and other healthcare professionals to keep up to date in important and evolving clinical areas, which may be outside their core practice. Specifically, the proposed educational series will be designed to find ways to prevent, diagnose, and/or treat disease more effectively through moderated discussion of new medications, vaccines, and medical procedures. It is important to note that topics will be carefully chosen, include references, facts and figures from literature reviews, and presented to audience free of bias.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the diagnostic criteria for metabolic syndrome
  2. Identify 3 secondary causes of obesity
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of how to take an appropriate medical history when evaluating a patient for obesity management
