Overview
The goal of this CME activity, focused on monthly didactic echocardiography lectures, is to advance the knowledge, skills, and competency of participants in the field of echocardiography, particularly in the context of valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and related conditions. This educational initiative is designed for an audience that includes faculty, trainees, nurses, and echo sonographers, all of whom play a crucial role in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients with cardiac conditions. The scope of this CME activity encompasses a comprehensive exploration of the echocardiographic presentation and application of advanced imaging techniques in patients with valvular heart disease and atrial fibrillation. This includes a detailed examination of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge to recognize and interpret complex echocardiographic findings in these conditions, enhancing their diagnostic acumen. A significant emphasis will be placed on assessing and applying a comprehensive approach to managing the aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valves, as well as the interatrial septum. Through both basic and advanced imaging techniques, the lectures aim to provide participants with the skills to identify and guide the treatment of valvular heart disease effectively. This approach will not only improve patient outcomes but also advance the standard of care in cardiology practices. Further defining the anatomy and function of the tricuspid valve is another key aspect of this CME activity. Understanding the nuances of tricuspid valve anatomy is crucial, particularly in light of emerging transcatheter therapies for tricuspid regurgitation. Participants will learn about the implications of these anatomical details for treatment, enhancing their ability to contribute to patient care in this evolving area of cardiology.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Analyze ECG coding, as well as improving competence in correct interpretation of ECG results.
  2. Develop a more comprehensive and state of the art structured didactic curriculum to enhance medical knowledge, competence of Cardiology trainees and faculty in their management of patients with a variety of cardiac conditions.
  3. Interpret comprehensive education on the latest advancements and knowledge in various sub-specialty topics of various invasive and non-invasive areas of cardiology, with emphasis on advanced imaging, procedures, and interpretation of results.

Accreditation
