Overview
The 3rd Biennial Miami Precision Medicine (MPM) 2026 conference (MPM) is the first international conference of its kind presented by the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South Florida‘s Only NCI-Designated Cancer Center. It brings together diverse experts in the field to share their knowledge and approaches in moving the precision medicine field towards routine practice. Precision Oncology- treating the right patient with the right treatment at the right time- has made substantial progress in developing novel and effective treatments that target specific molecular alterations in an increasing number of cancer types. This year's conference will have 2 sessions: Provider and Patient Provider Session - Advancing Precision Medicine: This session will focus on the integration of precision medicine into routine cancer care. Hear from national and international leaders about emerging innovations, clinical applications and the future of personalized oncology. Topics will include germline and genomic testing, multi-omics, molecular pathways, novel treatment and artificial intelligence. Patient Session - Empowering Survivors: Living Longer, Living Better: Designed for patients and advocates, this session will highlight role of germline and genomic testing, principles of precision oncology and survivorship, role of clinical trials and more. Topics will include cancer prevention and treatment, lifestyle medicine and survivorship care. The conference will examine the treatment landscape for various cancer types based on published and emerging data on: • Immuno-Oncology • Oncology Biomarkers • Molecular Alterations • Hematology • Pediatric Oncology • GI Cancers • Neuro Oncology • Breast Cancer • Genitourinary (Prostate, Bladder and Kidney) Cancers • Gynecologic Oncology • Sarcoma • Leukemia • Lung Cancer The conference will also illustrate the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in identifying patterns and innovative strategies for specific cancers and individual patient populations. An interdisciplinary molecular tumor board case discussion will emphasize the role of germline and genomic alterations in selecting targeted treatments as well as present relevant precision medicine clinical trials.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Expedite adoption of germline and genomic testing in clinical practice
  2. Interpret next generation sequencing (NGS) results
  3. Interpret results of a liquid biopsy (ctDNA)
  4. Explain the role of multi-omics in precision oncology
  5. Summarize role of biomarkers in selection of targeted therapies and immunotherapies in different cancer types
  6. Recognize the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in precision medicine
  7. Describe common molecular alterations and the role of molecular diagnostic tests in different cancer types
  8. Summarize recent and emerging data from key studies in clinical and translational cancer research
  9. Implement strategies designed to improve the quality of cancer care, address barriers to optimal care and enhance the patient experience
  10. Identify the role of lifestyle intervention in the precision medicine care model
  11. Identify the role of scentific advances in the field of cancer biology and tumor pathogenesis
  12. Develop collaborations that will lead to improved clinical trial portfolio and clinical trial participation
  13. Interact with patients and patient advocacy groups to promote access to molecularly-driven therapies and available clinical trials
  14. Facilitate patient-oncology experts' interaction and understanding of survivorship challenges in the era of precision medicine
