This full-day CME course provides a comprehensive and clinically focused update on multiple sclerosis (MS) and related neuroimmunology disorders, emphasizing advances that directly impact patient care. The program will review the evolving understanding of disease pathophysiology, current diagnostic criteria, and the expanding therapeutic landscape, including both established and emerging disease-modifying therapies. Key sessions will highlight recent findings and clinical updates from the ACTRIMS Forum and other major international meetings, ensuring participants are informed on the latest evidence shaping MS management. Special attention will be given to novel therapeutic approaches, including Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors, with discussion of their mechanisms of action, clinical trial data, safety considerations, and potential role in both relapsing and progressive disease. The course will also address practical application of treatment strategies across a broad spectrum of clinical scenarios, including optimizing therapy selection, monitoring treatment response, and managing adverse effects. Dedicated sessions will focus on the care of special populations, including women of childbearing age, pregnant patients, pediatric populations, and individuals living with HIV. These discussions will emphasize unique clinical challenges, safety considerations, and evidence-based approaches to individualized care. In addition, the course will incorporate multidisciplinary perspectives and case-based discussions to reinforce clinical decision-making and improve real-world application of knowledge. By the conclusion of this activity, participants will have enhanced knowledge, competence, and performance in diagnosing and managing MS and related disorders, translating current evidence and emerging therapies into improved patient outcomes.

1. Explain the role of BTK in B-cell activation and its relevance beyond anti-CD20 therapies.
2. Apply evidence to select appropriate patients for BTK inhibitor therapy in MS and related disorders.
3. Describe the role of Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) in B-cell activation and evaluate the mechanism of action, clinical trial evidence, safety considerations, and appropriate patient selection for BTK inhibitor therapies in multiple sclerosis.
4. Differentiate normal age-related brain volume loss from MS-related accelerated atrophy.
5. Integrate quantitative imaging data into patient counseling and individualized care plans.
6. Distinguish the differing effects of pregnancy on disease activity in MS versus NMOSD.
7. Assess the safety and timing of disease-modifying therapies during conception, pregnancy, and lactation.
8. Analyze the shared and divergent mechanisms of neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration in HIV and MS and incorporate this understanding into individualized therapeutic decision-making.
9. Apply evidence-based strategies for vaccination timing, selection, and safety in patients with multiple sclerosis receiving disease-modifying therapies.
10. Implement strategies to maximize immune protection, including pre-treatment vaccination and monitoring of serologic responses.
11. Identify appropriate patient populations and optimal timing for consideration of cell-based therapies
12. Explain the mechanisms of action of cell-based therapies, including aHSCT, mesenchymal stem cells, and emerging CAR T-cell approaches
13. Recognize the clinical presentations of autoimmune encephalitis and apply appropriate diagnostic and immunotherapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes.
14. Evaluate the mechanisms, efficacy, and safety of B-cell depleting therapies and apply individualized treatment strategies in patients with multiple sclerosis and NMOSD.
15. Recognize and manage safety concerns, including infection risk, hypogammaglobulinemia, and infusion-related reactions
16. Integrate evidence-based lifestyle interventions, including diet, exercise, and mental health strategies, into the comprehensive management of patients with multiple sclerosis.
17. Apply evidence-based supplement recommendations to support neurologic health and reduce comorbidity risk in MS
18. Enhance patient-centered care by counseling individuals with MS on modifiable lifestyle factors that influence disease progression, symptom burden, and overall well-being.
19. Apply pharmacoeconomic principles to optimize cost-effective, accessible, and evidence-based treatment strategies in patients with multiple sclerosis.
